Hidden Little Gem

Wanted to draw your attention to this hidden little Gem in Kennedy Town, tiny, but packs a punch when it comes to Pasta.
I've ordered twice for dinner - first, spicy salami, sun dried tomato and mushroom, second time chicken and mushroom pesto pasta. Both times have been great - pasta cooked perfectly and an awesome portion (even for me!).
Juices are also great of course - I recommend the 5 Green Blend (celery, cucumber, apple, green pepper, bitter melon).
I'll definitely be returning, I hope they can sustain the good quality.

Hi Chris,
Are you still in KT? I really would like to start playing badminton on a regular base. Could you let me know if you are interested, so we can book a court?
Cheers
Xavier

Bodega Riojana - Smithfield Road

Contray to the status "Closed" on WOM and OpenRice - Bodega Riojana is open and in my opinion is the best tapas in Hong Kong - its awesome (no exageration!).
They are opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings only - and will be closed all of August.
I feel compelled to spread the word - great location, environment and food. Somewhat expensive for the area, but the ingredients are as fresh as can be.
Worth a try - would love to hear some feedback also.

Non-shrinking laundry in Kennedy Town?

I'm afraid I have to say that I take this recommendation back. Not a shrinking problem, but a stain problem....
Many times I have noticed mild orange stains on white clothes which I had no recollection of… generally I didn’t take much notice as I assumed I was just a messy eater.
The last batch of laundry we picked up had orange stains all over my light clothes… this time heavy and wide spread – when we took it back to the laundry we were met with a very ignorant attitude … after much push they agreed to clean the stuff that was stained.
Unfortunately the attitude killed our loyalty – I suspect the stains were caused by contaminated water possibly from old plumbing (just a theory based on its rust like colour).
Would be very grateful for any recommendations…..

I think its hard to say, and really depends on your circumstances.
Generally speaking... tax is low (compared to UK at least), travel and food can be cheap.
Just my 2 cents.

I am a newbie to this forum and am seeking feedback from you who know. Looks like we may be moving from middle east to HK this summer. How does 50,000 HK$ /month sound to you? No package. Doesn't seem much here in ME? It is a job I would like and a place we would like to be. Hows about schooling for two young British girls and rents in KT area? Any feedback would be extremely helpful..... Thank you edited by Laurence on 5/31/2009

Hi Bridget - thanks for the feedback, we'll certainly expand the map. We'd like to introduce a more interactive map to allow members to plot their recommendations directly, watch this space.

Ooooh I love the map! But I think it should be bigger! It should go all the way to Belcher's and include the Super Welcome in Westwood Mall. You can actually get food other than Chinese there - which is a small miracle. Mind you, they're slowly taking away all of the good things, probably because no one knows it exists.

I'd love to say I do.... but I don't. We've moved laundries a couple of times - ended up at the "British Dry Cleaner" on Hau Wo St. - Must say its been the best so far, things will eventually get smaller and smaller... but not after 1 clean.
Which one are you currently using?

Hi Kennedy Towners, Does anyone know a good laundry place in KT (near Manhattan Heights) that doesn't shrink your clothes? I'm currently using one on Catchick street that has been progressively shrinking our clothes week by week.. ahh! Thanks! Diana

All You Can Eat Sushi?

I dont - there are plenty of local places to go - do lets us know if you find anywhere - or if you have any good recommendations.
My best find (not for value) is the Japanese place on Davis Street. Good sashimi/sushi.
There's no english menu / service though - so take someone local speaking... edited by chrisnew on 3/28/2009 edited by chrisnew on 3/29/2009
