Mid-levels is a mainly resedential area located halfway up directly above Central. It is a highly desirable area with property prices reflecting this.

Location and History

g Location

Mid-levels (半山區 Traditional Chinese) is located on Victoria Peak directly above central. It has excellent connections to the Central Area including of course the Central-Mid-Levels Escalator.

g History

Many streets are named after former Governors of Hong Kong. Examples include Bonham Road (after George Bonham, 1848-1854) and Kennedy Road (after Arthur Edward Kennedy, 1872-1877).

Many of the roads in this area are within walking distance of the Central Business District, which is accessible by the mid levels escalator from Central.

Mid-levels is in walking distance of the Central MTR Station, as such is it extremley well connected to the rest of the island.

Those in the know... will know there are two types of minibus services: 

Red Roof - These follow relativley undocumented routes, Check the front and flag them down if they are heading where you need.

Green Roof - These are the documented and numbered routes, these typically have fixed pick up points, however they may be flagged down when there is space on board.
